Sitting Tilda with Butterfly Birthday Card

Good morning, dearest readers,

Can you believe that February has ended? My goodness, is time flying by for you, too? It just seems like yesterday that I was getting ready for Valentine's Day! When we were children, I think time dragged on because there was so much to learn. Now, as adults, we are learning, but not at the rate we did as children so time is flying by! Perhaps I should try to fit in more things to learn! I feel like Summer just ended and here Spring is - knocking at the door!

Well, enough chatter! LOL Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. Our challenge this time is entitled, Bling It Up! This is the time to make your cards sparkle in some way. You can use gems, rhinestones, glitter, etc. Your card just needs to have bling on it! That's nice and easy peasy, right?

For my card, I used lots of glitter. Sadly, you can't see it in the photo. *sigh* I also used Frantage with shiny gold specks in it. Here is my design:

I used a Spellbinders Die set for the shape of my card and the mats. Also used is a lovely square doily as well as a rounded one. I used Sitting Tilda with Butterfly from the Once Upon a Time Collection. I also inked the borders of the mats. The paper I used, inside and out, is from Maja Sofiero. I so love this paper! I can't get enough of it! The Fran-tage is Antique White. I've applied it to the butterfly border as well as the three tiny butterflies which are on the right side. The glitter I used is a lilac color made by Kindyglitz (Do they still make Kindyglitz?) and Star Dust Stickles. The glitter in on Tilda's headband, on the butterfly wings, and along the perimeter of the sentiment. My card is finished with some beautiful lace, ribbon, and pretty flowers. Tilda has been colored with Distress Inks.

I hope you like my card. I hope I've provided some inspiration for you as well. This time, both design teams (A & B) are showcasing cards for inspiration. I hope you will visit the blogs of my teamies and see what lovely cards they've also created to share. We combined our work this time because, **drum roll,** next week we're having the

Magnolia-licious Spring Blog Hop!

You will NOT want to miss that! Mark your calendar for Monday, March 3! Check in at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to find out all the details and where to begin the hop! The designers have been busy making lovely items to share!

I hope you will leave a comment for me below. There is always a winner selected by Magnolia-licious who will win a wonderful prize from Diana!

Edwin With Derby Hat Valentine Card

Good morning, dearest readers,

Can you believe I'm back again so soon? Well, don't get used to it! LOL I've been working on today's card for three days now. Hubby has been coming in and out of my craft room. I think he suspects that I'm working on his Valentine's Day card. I've managed to keep it under wraps! I thought I'd share it with you today.

I just love the Edwin with Derby Hat image. He's ideal for masculine cards. I wanted my husband's card to be masculine yet have the Valentine feel. Here are the photos:

No ribbon on this card. I did add some lace because it resembled an old crocheted table cloth. It also matched with the flowers on the title panel. I did add flowers. I had to do something for me! LOL I used Go Kreate dies for the shape of the card. I also used a ton of dies. The vintage bicycle is a Memory Box die. The heart border on the left is Whiff of Joy, I think. I'm not sure on that one. The Viewmaster die is a Magnolia Doohickey Die. I chose to add alphas behind it to be part of the sentiment for the front. I loved that the alpha stickers fit perfectly in the open squares. The heart on the ribbon die is called Precious Hearts by Memory Box. I had some red pearl hearts, so I added them as accents.

Here is the inside of my card:

On the inside left, I have used my humor to create a pun using the Magnolia Mustache Doohickey Die. I also used a label maker for the words. I want it to say, "I mustache(must ask) you a question..." Then, over on the right side you will find the question - "Will you be my Valentine?" I tried to be clever! LOL

I used a Marianne Design Lovebird die on the left. I wanted to keep it simple since it is for a gentleman. The right side features a black doily die. I liked that it had hearts. I also had a smaller set of dies that matched the shape of the card. The heart on the lower left is from Whiff of Joy.

Well, that's the card I made for the love of my life. If you liked it, let me know! Since no one has seen it, I am dying to know what fellow cardmakers think! LOL

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day! I'll be back next week with another card to share!

XO,

Chris

Summer Wedding Tilda Sings Happy Birthday Instead!

Good morning, dear readers,

It's Tuesday and time for another challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! Today's challenge is called, "Pretty in Pink!" I didn't used to like pink until I found that I look really good in Baby Pink! Slowly, gradually, I started getting pink things. Now, I'm sold! Before I go any further (and forget), I want to announce who won a little somethin' somethin' from me! So, without further adieu ... **drumroll please** the winner is:

#7 - Caryl (aka EnblogSail)

Caryl, please use the e-mail address on the right and send me your address. Congratulations!

Thanks to each of you for leaving sweet comments for me. I wish I could send each of you something. I love reading your comments. They help keep me motivated! Don't forget to leave a comment below so your name will go into the next drawing for me as well as Diana at Magnolia-licious!

Speaking of Magnolia-licious, don't miss out on the current offer Diana has going. Order any item (stamp or die) that has the word "HEART" in the name and receive a 15% EXTRA discount in store credit. This sale ends on February 14. Also, new Wild Rose Studio Stamps are 30% off this week only! How can you pass either of these sales going?

Now for my card. Here it is:

If you don't have this Tilda stamp, do add her to your collection. She is so easy to color. I really stink at coloring hair and look how nicely this turned out? LOL, LOL, LOL! It was really easy to determine the highlight and lowlight areas. I colored her with water colors. I used a Go Kreate Die, lace I had in my supplies, gorgeous pink ribbon I got from Magnolia-licious, Spellbinders dies, an antique gold charm, a wooden spool, a tiny gem flower, and other flowers from my supplies. The papers are Sofiero (my very, VERY favorite) which I got HERE. The inside of my card is also finished with flowers and matching papers. It really turned out to be an adorable card!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked the card I created to inspire you. Do visit the blogs of my Design Team "Sistahs" as they have gorgeous creations which will surely stir up your creative juices!

I can't wait to see your entries in our "Pretty in Pink" Challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day! I'll be back on Wednesday to show you the card I made for my DH!

XO,

Chris

Wee Flower Fairies Bring Love

Hello Dear Readers,

I hope this post finds you getting in the mood for love! Valentine's Day is quickly approaching! I need to get busy and make my husband's card! If I start today, I just might get it done in time! Are you a slow card maker? I am! I'm not talking hours, I'm talking DAYS! LOL.

Before I forget, I have some RED hot news! Magnolia-licious is having a super Valentine's special! Purchase any stamp or die with the word HEART in it and receive an additional 15% discount! Can you believe that? Then, to sweeten the pot even more, any Wild Rose Studio stamp is 30% off this week! The sale ends on 2/14 and discounts show up as store credit! What a great time to get yourself a little Valentine's gift!

Today, I have a delightful card to share with you! It's "W-Wednesday" at Magnolia-licious! I just love these sweet stamps. Today, I have chosen one of the flower fairies from the Wee Flower Fairies stamp set. I love how Sylvia Zet designed her hair. I'm terrible and very inconsistent with hair coloring. Hair styles such as this one are easy for me and generally look pretty good when I'm done with them. I think I do better when the hair has few details, LOL.

Here is my card:

Isn't she adorable? I love the sweetness of her! See what I mean about her hair? Easy peasy to do. You can pick out the highlights and lowlights so easily. I chose to make my card circular. I am very fond of that shape with cards. I used three different paper designs from the Maja Sofiero Collection. It is one of my very favorite lines of paper. You can find it at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. I used Nestie dies for my die cuts. There is machine stitching on all panels, inside and out. I used Fran-Tage in Shabby Antique Pink along with some chalking to shade the circle. The lace heart is also a treasure from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Now for a steal of a deal! Diana, at Magnolia-licious, is having a 25% off sale of ALL Candibean Stamps this week! What a great time to take advantage of these fantastic prices! Check them out!

Well, That's about it for me! Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you will come back again! Please become a follower of my blog, if you aren't already. Also, you can follow me on Facebook under Chrissy Christensen! We can be f-r-i-e-n-d-s! LOL ((hugs to all))

Have a great week!

Chris

Hello Dear Readers,

I hope this blog post finds you warm and cozy. It's warm here in the desert southwest. It's January and we have temps almost at 70°F (20°C). I still have a glacier in my driveway from early December when we had snow! The ice is so thick that it refuses to melt! This time of year, that part of our driveway doesn't get sun so it stays frozen.

A couple of weeks ago, I was a Top Three Winner at the Time for Magnolia Challenge Blog. I was both surprised and honored to have been selected by their Design Team. Thank you for selecting my card. This allowed me to be the Guest Designer for this challenge, Valentine's Day! Thank you so much for the privilege. I hope you like my card. Here it is:
