Magnolia Tilda Prickly Words Love Card

Happy New Year, Sweet Readers,

It's still early here, on New Year's Eve, so I thought I would get a quick post of a card I did the other night when I couldn't sleep. I hope you like it. Here it is:

I thought this stamp matched the sentiment's sweetness. Tilda has been hand painted. The cactus die cut is from Magnolia's Pop Up Box #1. I enhanced the cactus using Primacolor pencils and adding flower sequins to which I added pearl centers. The interior is finished on one panel with another Saguaro Cactus die cut that is different from the one on the front. It's a perfect card when your words get out before you can stop talking! I'm an expert at running my mouth and regretting it shortly afterward, **sigh**

Magnolia Windy Tilda Falling For You Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying your Fall. I've been in bed for the past week with a severe respiratory infection. It has been very bad. I thought about going to the hospital once or twice because I couldn't breathe due to the severe coughing. I think I'm on the mend, but am not so sure yet. I need to get well because Thanksgiving is coming and I have dinner to prepare. As you know, these holiday dinners take a lot of time, effort, and stamina. I'm pretty weak right now.

I have a card to share with you today. It's been done for a couple of weeks, but I never got around to taking a photo of it. Here it is:

This card features Windy Tilda from the 2007 Fall Stamps Collection. Notice the movement drawn into the image. I had talked about that in the previous post below. I love those older stamps because of that characteristic. I think this stamp is a cutie.

Tilda has been colored with DIs. There are many layers of card stock, decorative papers, doilies, and die cuts. All of the leaves have been punched from various colors of card stock. I used Doohickey dies for the mushrooms, street lamp, and fence. The cluster in the upper right features some little fruit I got from Magnolia as well as some textured grass leaves. I added real mini pine cones and a sweet little acorn charm. A bow of twine finishes off the cluster.
Here are a couple of close ups:

Magnolia Flower Power Tilda Vintage Tag

Hello Dearest Readers,

Well, it's been a while. Sorry about my absence. Things are so busy here, and I've been sick. I haven't even gotten to play with some of my new Magnolia "toys!" LOL

Today, I'm going to share with you a sweet tag featuring Flower Power Tilda from the 2006 Shabby Chic Collection. I love this little stamp. She was one of the first stamps I bought when I started card making after getting bored with scrapbooking. There's something so special about the earlier Magnolia stamps. I think it's the simple lines and the movement shown in the details. In this case, the way Tilda's hair is flowing. Here she is:

Tilda has been colored with Distress Inks, Prismacolor Pencils, and Derwent Watercolor Pencils. The paper used is Pion. The flowers are from my supply. I used Joy Craft dies, pearls, and a stick pin I put together.

Want to see the back? I did finish it but wanted it to be something on which a message could be written.

I just love this Pion paper. It is so feminine.

Magnolia Tripping Flower Tilda Asian Themed Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Friday Eve! We were up all night with thunder and lightning for hours. It started about 4:00 AM and lasted until about 1:00 PM. It was wonderful! Everyone I spoke with today said what a wonderful day it was! Quite a contrast here in the desert where we rarely get rain and those areas in the southern parts of the USA that were inundated with rain. Our hearts and prayers go out to them. There is such devastation. I am so blessed.

I hope this post finds you happy and well!

I have a card to share with you today that I think you will love! Well, I hope you like/love it! I used Tripping Flower Tilda from the Special Moments collection. I think this little Tilda is so pretty. I wanted the card to have an Asian theme. I chose to use Graphic 45's Birdsong Paper. It is so pretty. I had the butterfly flower die for a while and never used it. I"m not sure who made it because I no longer had the packaging. I had it tucked in with La La Land's other semicircle dies. Maybe it's from La La Land Crafts? I added pearls to accentuate the design's elements. I also like the flower cluster. I kept to the colors found in the papers. I used a tassle die and added some pearls to it as well I think the mat on which Tilda is positioned is from Spellbinders. I had it in my Spellbinder die case. Tilda was watercolored. Here it is:

The interior panels are both done. I used Magnolia's Chinese umbrella dies as well as their Chinese Lantern dies. Again, the die shape is by Spellbinders (I think). The lanterns have been elevated using pop dots to provide some dimension. The pearl/rose swirls are so pretty and are by Prima.

Magnolia Farmer Tilda Any Occasion Card

Hello Sweet Readers,
I've had such a hectic time lately. The card I'm going to share today took me two weeks to get done! Whenever I could sneak away for a few minutes, I would go and work on it. Care for DH is becoming more and more apparent. Many days, he doesn't remember how to put on his clothes. Please keep us in your prayers. This is so hard on the entire family. **tears**

Now to a brighter side! Would you like to see my card? Well, here it is:

When I saw Farmer Tilda (Farm to Market Collection), I knew I wanted to pair her with the barn and Magnolia's Joyful Piglet. They were such a perfect match. That little piglet is so cheery and was the perfect size. I have him on a pop dot so that he is elevated. I also used the Magnolia Chicken Wire die - and why not? LOL - Chicken wire can be found on a farm, too! The little plant clusters were made using Flower Soft. I love the background paper I used. I love the scenic elements printed on it. It's an old pad by Nikki Sivils, I think. Tilda has been painted with DIs. The wheat is also from Magnolia. I finally got to use it! LOL. The upper, smaller barn doors open to reveal a nest of chicken eggs.

Here are shots of the interior panels:

Magnolia Tilda with Straw Hat Any Occasion Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Well, here I am again - so fast, too! I haven't been feeling well lately. Getting old isn't for sissies, that's for sure! Almost a month ago, I fell over the opened door of the dishwasher and broke the door. I didn't see the stupid door that had been left down because the floor is white tile and the interior of the dishwasher WAS also white. So, I missed the door and landed on it when I fell. I'm hurting and still have bruises on my shins. My back is aching if I turn a certain way. I fell so hard and am so glad that the lower rack with the spikey things wasn't out, too. I need to find a cave to live in, I think!

Today, I loaded seven cards in my Etsy shop. The card I'm sharing today is for sale along with some cute little blank note cards ----->

My Etsy Shop

I chose an older Tilda that I thought was so sweet and needed to be used. I made the larger flowers all by myself, LOL! The rosebuds are imported. The card edge has been inked in white. Tilda has been watercolored. The interior of the card has been finished on both panels. It's such a girly card! Here is a shot of the interior:

Jedi Edwin Birthday Card

Hello Sweet Readers,

Are you still here? It's been such a long time since I've posted. I am so sorry, but life has a way of eating every spare minute I'm having. Thank you for visiting this time. I hope you won't forget me. Please know that if I could be here more often, I would.

Today, I am sharing a birthday card featuring Jedi Edwin. I apologize for the terrible photo, but as I was adjusting the light, the ring that holds the base to the pole of the lamp flew out of the base and fell somewhere behind my scrap table. I will have to look for it tomorrow in the daylight (it's 1:30 AM now). So, the photo is dark. I thought this stamp was so adorable. My image has been painted with Distress Inks and then enhanced with Prisma Colored Pencils. Here is my card front.

br>
It's hard to see in the photo, but the sky is a clear pink with gray at the bottom level. It looks so cool IRL. My little scene is a little wonky, so please don't laugh too hard! I drew the house and the various soil components. I never claimed to be an artist, LOL.

The inside has been finished as well on both panels. There are glittery elements inside and out. The moon and large star are elevated on pop dots. I added the enamel dots to simulate additional moons.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you like my creation. Please, if you have time, stop by my Etsy Shop. There might be something there that you might like to get! I'm always looking for a bargain maybe there is one hiding there just for you!

I hope you will return again very soon!

A Hawk has Brunch in Our Backyard!

Good morning, dearest readers,

I have a quick note to share. The other day, I was in my craft room when I looked out the window and saw a very large bird feeding on something in our back yard. As I was watching, the bird flew away and a MUCH LARGER version of the same species swooped in and landed where bird #1 had been feeding. It was so fast that it if I had blinked, I would have missed the changing of the birds! This took place about 20 feet from my window. I continued to watch what was going on as it was so interesting. I had a hard time discerning what type of bird it was because with my old, tired eyes, I didn't have clarity due to the distance, the window, and the window screen which blurred my vision.

I was determined to know what type of bird I was watching. I got out my telephoto lens and attached it to my camera. Then I saw what it was - a HAWK! Hawks normally do not land so close to homes. Both the smaller one and the huge one must have felt that our yard was a safe zone to feed in peace. The large hawk fed for at least 30 minutes as my husband and I watched from my craft room window. Meet Mr. Hawk:

When this behemoth flew in, the smaller hawk said, "Have at it, Mr. Hawk! I'm outta here!" LOL After the large hawk was done, and flew away, my husband went out to see what they were feeding on. It was a dove. :o( My husband cleaned up the feathers and remnants. About an hour after my husband cleaned it up, the smaller hawk returned and landed in the same spot it had previously been. It hopped all around for food leftovers. There weren't any, so it left.

This was one of those "Nature's Miracles" that happen only in a great once in a while! We were so fortunate to see this process.

Have a good one,

Chris

Magnolia Tilda "Lucky Me" Hand Made Card

Happy St. Patrick's Day Sweet Readers,

Are you wearing your green today? I love St. Patrick's Day! It is such a happy holiday! I'm getting ready to get my corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots all ready for cooking! LOL The best part of the meal is having the left over corned beef for yummy reuben sandwiches, LOL.

Today, I'm showcasing a card that isn't necessarily a St. Patrick's Day card. In my mind, it's an "I Love You" card. The colors didn't show well in the photo. I so need a new camera and have no clue what to get. My old camera is a Canon EOS Rebel. It stopped transferring the photos to my computer. It still takes photos, though. Anyway, I looked at Canon cameras, and there are so many that I didn't know what would be close to what I had. I live in a small city that has no camera shop, so I'm dead in the water at this point.

OK, back to the photo, LOL. My colors are a soft pink and green with brown accents. Here it is:

I tried to give my little Tilda reddish hair - I sort of did, LOL! The inside if finished on both sides with additional flowers, tags, ribbon, and die cuts.

Magnolia Lovely Rose Tilda Sending Hugs Card

Hello Sweet Readers,

Thank you so much for stopping by! Your visit means a lot! Thank you! I'm feeling very tender today. I'm always on the verge of tears. I think I'm just stressed over a lot of different things - family, government, responsibilities, life in general. Please send good thoughts my way!

I have a delightful card to share with you today. I hope you like it. I wanted something that was sort of vintage, but not quite. I think I got to that point, LOL. Here it is:

The card colors are cream and red with touches of green. I had the beautiful embossed background paper in my scrapbooking papers. It is so pretty. I finally got the rose colored nicely, LOL! My roses needed work - always!

There are two delightful elements - one solid and one that has the middles cut out. I thought they would look great as decorative stems. I got them from

Swedish House Crafts

They are Gummiapan Dies. Here are the names and links: Flower Allium (cut out centers) and Crassula (the one with the solid leaves). They just add dimension and extension that is so nice. Both dies come with a leaf die as well. I did use one leaf in the upper left corner of my card. The prices are sooooooo reasonable, too! Check them out!

Here is a shot of the interior panels:

You can see that I added the Gummiapan dies once again. Can you see the texture on the background paper? You likey?

Magnolia Chef Edwin & Soup's On Tilda

Happy Valentine's Day Dearest Readers,

I hope you had a wonderful day filled with love!

Today, I finished a card that I had started last week. I needed to let my ideas bounce around in my head for a bit before I decided how to proceed using my Tilda and Edwin. Finally, a clear picture began to emerge in my mind. The card below is the end result. I just cracked up when I read the sentiment for the stamp I used. I knew I had to buy it! Since I first saw the sentiment, I've laughed each time I've read it! It makes me smile. I don't understand why the text didn't show up well in the photo, though. It is nice and dark on the card. Go figure. Maybe the lighting hit it at a bad angle. Here it is:

I thought that Chef Edwin was a perfect pairing with Soup's On Tilda. The chef's knife that Edwin was holding really bothered me. He looked like a character in a "slasher" movie, LOL. So, I masked the knife out and added a carrot instead! I liked that look so much better! LOL My papers are Siri's Kitchen. My buttons are Basic Grey, the flowers are from my supply.

I also finished the inside of the card with the cooking theme. Here is the interior:

I don't know if there is a vintage feel to the card. There is inking along the edges in a creamy brown. Tilda and Edwin have been watercolored with highlights from my Prismacolor pencils.

Made with Love Magnolia Tilda Card

Happy Super Bowl Sunday, Dearest Readers,

Are you gearing up for the big game, LOL? Are yummy aromas coming from your kitchen? Is the gang all there? Who are you rooting for? Today is a manly man's day, huh? Enjoy the game. I hope your team wins!

I just got my stamps from the Recipe Collection on Thursday. It takes sooooooooooo long for them to come from Europe! The flowers I order from Thailand get here within days. Anyway, I got right down to business with this cutie stamp - Made with Love Tilda. I had to laugh because the word, "laugh" is misspelled on the stamp. I think Magnolia Sweden needs to hire me as an English proofreader, LOL. Here is a shot of the front:

For my card, I used Siri's Kitchen from Pion Designs. A touch of lace, some pretty flowers, embellies, and die cuts are working together for the front. I thought the apron was a really cute die and a good match with the apron on Tilda's image. I did add some Wink of Stella to the cake, but you can't see it. There is a hidden tag behind the image mat.

The interior has been finished on both sides. Here are additional shots:

Magnolia Tilda Love Ya Lots Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Friday to each of you! I hope this post finds you happy! I wish I could be... Sometimes life can just throw a wrench at you, and it's impossible to fix the situation. I wish we weren't in this bad place - a place with no escape. So, rather than whine about my situation, I'm going to share a very quick card! LOL

For my card, I chose to use I Give You My Heart Tilda from the Duos Collection. I thought she was a cutie! My colors are taupe and red with white accents. Tilda was colored with Distress Inks and touches of white from a gel pen. Sometimes, it's just fun to make a quickie card. Here is a photo:

I liked how the doily added just the right girliness (is that a word? LOL) to the front. The inside is finished with a doily and more flowers.

Magnolia Scorpio Tilda Girl Power Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy end of January! Can you believe it is going to be February so quickly? Is time flying by because I am older? Is it flying by for you as well? Remember when we were young, it felt like time was going by sooooo slowly? It seems like the hours in school would go on and on and on. It sure doesn't feel that way anymore. I seem to be unable to finish everything on my daily task list. LOL

I did manage to recently get a really cute card done. After the Women's March, I thought about this little Tilda and thought she'd be a perfect image for the strength of the female gender! So, the Girl Power card was born! LOL

Here are the photos:

The sentiment on the spool is computer generated. I was laying in bed when the phrasing came to me. For me, it expresses when I'm insecure, when I'm getting ready to give something a go, and when I finally take the plunge! Believe me, with my DH's illness, I've taken so many plunges over the last few years, I'm always in the water! LOL

I had the flowers and thought they'd be perfect with the image - strength in the stamped image and girly with the pink and flowers. The inside has been complete finished on both panels. I just love this card! I don't think I had ever colored this Tilda before.

Magnolia Tilda Heart Balloon Vintage Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Well, we are in a rainy pattern and are in between storms right now. There are beautiful, fluffy, dark gray clouds with white sculptured tops floating through a blue sky, It is absolutely beautiful. By tonight, we'll be in the rain again. YES! I know, I know, I've said it over and over again - we need all the water we can get to fill our streams and reservoirs.

I made a vintage card featuring a mini of a Tilda whose name I do not know! If you know who she is, please tell me! I am just in a pink mood, I guess as I'm gravitating toward the pinks right now when doing cards. Here is my newest creation:

For the papers, I used Pion Design. I went through all of my collections and matched papers, LOL. Thank you, Pion! So, one particular line was not used. I had this pretty lacy die that I thought would look great with a Tilda matted in the center of the die. Some pretty flowers from all over, teeny tiny pearls, and a frame finished the front.

The inside is also finished and is so pretty as well.

I didn't dress up the interior as I usually do. Because the papers were so delicate and pretty, I wanted to keep it simple.

Magnolia Korean Tilda Any Occasion Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

Happy Sunday to each of you! We had snow over the weekend and it was so wonderful - don't start!!! Yes, many of you are being buried in snow and absolutely HATE IT, LOL, but here in the desert, it isn't an every year occurrence, and we need the water! I got up very early the morning after it had snowed. The cars were driving down the road and it sounded like they were driving on rocks due to the ice.

Christmas was horrible. I won't go into it, but suffice it to say that it was the worst Christmas of my adult life. Hubby and I were upset all day. I hope your holiday was better - it HAD TO BE since ours couldn't have gotten much worse!

Now, this week is filled with meeting repairmen. My stovetop isn't working, so I can only cook on high using only the large burner size on all five burners. Someone dented one of our three garage doors. How? Who knows. There's a dent and a buckle we didn't have before. Our garages are in the back of the house, so whomever did it had to be in our driveway! I discovered that there are mice wintering in the garage, and before I have them "neutralized" I need to replace the weather stripping on the three garage doors so that they don't return. My laptop isn't working. I dripped tangerine juice into an edge of the touchpad so now the touchpad sticks and won't go up and down. I'm holding my breath as I write this. I've stayed off the computer as much as possible so that it lasts until I can get it repaired. When did being an adult become such a pain in the arse? LOL

I took some time for myself this weekend and made a card. I used Korean Tilda as she was my favorite from the Stamp and Cutz Collection. I used Basic Gray papers, tons of various dies, lots of pearls, and glitter, of course! LOL Tilda's dress was colored using Bundled Sage DI.The green doesn't really show well. The card shape is from a retired Grand Spellbinders set. The doily was made using a Cheery Lynn die. Inside I used a La La Land die for the bridge, Memory Box plant dies, another Spellbinders die on the front just behind the image mat, and DooHickey dies. Here is the front:

I finished the inside panels as well. I always do my interiors because since I have the stuff already all over my craft table, I might as well finish the card then! LOL.
